Forfeits

Forfeits

Approved forfeits are allowed but only in the timeframe provided below. This does not disqualify your team from Weekend of Champions participation and you are eligible for a reschedule should your forfeited game day/time be canceled due to weather.

Unapproved forfeits are not permitted and will disqualify you from participating in the Weekend of Champions Playoffs.  Unapproved forfeits are not eligible for a reschedule.

APPROVED FORFEITS:

If you need to forfeit a game, you must contact your opponent as well as the office by Thursday at close of business.  This can come in the form of an email to your opponent with the office cc'd.  Please indicate the specific game, date, time, field, location as well as your opponent in the body of the email.

UNAPPROVED FORFEIT/NO SHOW:
If a team does not show up to the game or does not have the minimum number of players after a ten minute grace period, the team forfeits the game.  Coaches are allowed to use the field to scrimmage if it's available but referees will not be present for the game.

In order for a team to be awarded a forfeit win in this situation, at least the minimum number of players needed to play and 1 registered coach must be present at the appointed field at game time.

UNAPPROVED FORFEIT/DOUBLE NO SHOW:
If a team contacts the opposing coach but does not contact the office prior to the Thursday at close of business deadline, and neither team shows up for the game, it will be considered a double forfeit.

If neither team shows up for the game, it will be considered a double forfeit.

UNAPPROVED FORFEIT/ILLEGAL PLAYER:
If a coach attempts to and/or plays any unregistered / non-rostered player(s), those games will be forfeited.

UNAPPROVED FORFEIT/NO APPROVED COACH AVAILABLE:
If your team does not have any certified coaches with a SCCYSA issued ID card  present in the technical area, the game will result in a forfeit.  Coaches must have their name printed on the game card in order to be considered eligible in addition to showing their SCCYSA issued coach card.

If your team needs a non-rostered coach to sub for a game, you must contact the SCCYSA Office by Monday at close of business so that their name can be added to your game card for the weekend.
