Soccer is a great way to introduce children to sports through team play. SCCYSA emphasizes teaching the fundamentals of soccer and REQUIRES that each child plays at least one half of each game. SCCYSA’s recreational outdoor program is designed to develop and challenge players, but most of all, allow them to have fun. SCCYSA is a not-for-profit, volunteer-run organization committed to providing our community with a value priced, high quality soccer program. Over 6000 kids participate annually.

Recreational=Individual player registration where teams made from player pool. These teams cannot have try-outs, no advertisement of any kind, or be hand selected by a coach or any other member on the team.

Coach will distribute uniform (if applicable) and schedule after March 2.

UNIFORMS/GEAR: All players will receive a uniform (jersey, shorts & socks) in the fall season.  Only new player’s receive uniforms in the spring. Uniform must always be the outermost clothing article worn during games. Shin guards are REQUIRED to participate in SCCYSA practices and games. Soccer cleats are optional, yet they are highly recommended (due to possible wet grass conditions). We DON’T allow baseball cleats (a baseball cleat has a cleat on the front of the sole) or football (rectangular cleats on the outmost part of the sole). Just a reminder JEWELRY (including earrings) is NOT allowed during games! Each player should have a soccer ball for practice at home. The league does not provide soccer balls for players.  Participation awards are provided for all ages.

TEAM ORGANIZATION: SCCYSA allows teams to remain together from one season to the next. Once your child is on a team he/she can stay on that team until you request off. All players must register for each season. New players are welcomed and will be placed on teams. SCCYSA strives to balance teams when adding players into the division, and therefore, requests to play for a specific coach or with a specific player will only be honored at the discretion of the SCCYSA board. Additionally, if desired, parents may request their child to be placed onto a different team at the conclusion of any season.

SCHEDULE: Regular scheduled games are primarily played on Saturdays between 8am-5pm and Sundays between 12pm-5pm. High School games are played during the week and on Sunday evenings. Opening weekend will be March 14 & 15, 2015. We make every effort to play 8 regular season games. Mother Nature does not always cooperate with our schedule so make up games are held weekend evenings and weeknights where lit fields are available and only if needed.

PRACTICES: SCCYSA does not provide practice schedule or practice locations. SCCYSA Coaches are parent volunteers; and they will be responsible for scheduling the place and time for practice, if they choose. Practices, if done, are typically scheduled once a week and are generally located at schools and parks.  Practices may start anytime after Feb 9 .

REGISTRATION: For you convenience, you can register in house, by mail, online and we do have a drop box outside our office for non-working hours. The registration fee includes a jersey, shorts and socks and a participation award. Returning Player registration fee does not include uniform. Players are not asked to sell candy/promotional goods.

Once you have signed up, you will not hear from your coach until after Feb 9. If you do not hear from a coach by Feb 24 please call the office.

DEADLINE: SCCYSA guarantees placement of all registrations received by Jan 19, 2015. We cannot guarantee placement for registrations after this date, however registration fees will be refunded if a player cannot be placed on a team.
